The first of this new series will begin Saturday, September 22 at 5:00 pm.

The Beaver Trilogy combines three separate vignettes that were filmed at different times, in 1979, 1981, and 1985. The first, entitled The Beaver Kid, is a short documentary about the exploits of “Groovin’ Gary”, a performer that filmmaker Harris happened upon while filming for a Salt Lake City, Utah news station.

The film will be followed by a short question and answer with Leo and a cocktail reception on the rooftop of Cine Tonalá. Admission is free, space is limited.

About anonymous film club:

One of the gallery’s initiatives, (AFC), was originally launched in 2012 with projekt:nyc and began with a screening of Antics Roadshow, a film produced and directed by the British street artist Banksy. The event was hosted by curator and writer Anthony Haden-Guest in New York at the TriBeCa Grand Hotel. Throughout the year AFC featured several powerful films highlighting various artists, personas and movements that have influenced creative culture of the 21st century. Among these films there were Downtown Calling narrated by Deborah Harry, Captured - a film about photographer Clayton Patterson’s documentation of New York City’s Lower East Side since the 80’s, Wildstyle filmmaker Charlie Ahearn’s hip-hop shorts and Beautiful Darling, a 2010 feature-length documentary film about Candy Darling, the transgender pioneer, actress and Andy Warhol Superstar. These unique films were presented and followed by a Q & A with individuals that helped bring these pictures to life.

We expect AFC to further the gallery’s mission of providing a platform for creating new cultural spaces and community involvement outside of the gallery.
